The Mining Drill (Heavy) has 2 modes, default and flatten, where the flatten mode levels the ground (it can not dig down). The drill is used for mining, and requires a [[Special:MyLanguage/Battery_Cell|battery]] to operate.

The benefit of this drill is that it mines much faster than the [[Special:MyLanguage/Mining_Drill|Mining Drill]]. The Mining Drill (Heavy) comes in two versions, where the only difference is that the Mk.II version is resistant to high temperature, useful only on extremely hot planets like [[Special:MyLanguage/Worlds#Vulcan|Vulcan]].
